Galipatam is one of the most eccentric events celebrated annually in National Institute of Design, Vijayawada. It is celebrated in the month of February during the time of the harvest festival in South India.
The students of NID have been in a transit campus for 3 years now and IJM residential society has been their hostels since the beginning. It was observed that there was a communication gap between the students and the residents of the society. We wanted to bring in something to better the relationship between the two parties. And that is when Galipatam was initiated in the year 2017.
In the year 2018, I played a part in the promotion team of the event by making the event banners. The aim was to bring out the exuberance and high spirits of the festival through colours and motifs found in Andhra Pradesh. The banners were strategically placed in the given space during the celebration.
